Meet Kelly

Maywood Park is more than where I live. It’s my community.

When I moved to Maywood Park in 2017 with my husband Chris, my son Aron, my step-daughter Willow, and our dogs Bowie and Rio, I wasn’t sure I wanted to get involved in city politics. There were a lot of newer residents like me, and I wasn’t always sure how we fit into a community where some families had been here for generations.

Then I started getting to know my neighbors. The more people I met—with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives—the more I realized how much we had in common. We cared about many of the same things. And somewhere along the way, I fell in love with this little city.

It turns out I love living in a place where neighbors know one another, show up for each other, and care about what happens here. I’m running for City Council because I want to help preserve what makes Maywood Park special—and help our city government work better for all of us.

Experience I'll Bring to Council

My career has been about helping people and organizations navigate change, solve complicated problems, and build better ways of working—without losing sight of the people affected.

My professional role has been to represent people impacted by decisions made when they aren't in the room—making sure their needs and voices are heard. I've spent decades stepping into complicated, sometimes messy situations: asking questions, identifying risks, bringing different perspectives together, and turning big ideas into practical solutions that work. I help turn complicated decisions into changes people can understand and actually live with.

That experience feels particularly relevant to Maywood Park today. Our city is evolving. We can preserve the neighborly character, history, and relationships that make this place special while continuing to strengthen how our city government operates.

I don't believe we have to choose between honoring where Maywood Park has been and preparing it for where it's going.

Experience That Translates

Professional Experience

30+ years solving problems and leading change--from local organizations to global companies
  • My career has spanned across industries and organizations, including Cisco, Intel, Nike, Citrix, West Hills Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facility, California Certified Organic Farmers, Earthbound Farms, and my current work as a contractor supporting Bonneville Power Administration.

  • I helped pioneer corporate social media at Intel, creating first-of-their-kind policies and procedures that enabled employees to engage on the company’s behalf, while mitigating risk. The strategy was ratified by Intel’s Board of Directors and adopted across Intel and other companies. Fun fact: I was also the first person to manage Intel’s Facebook and Twitter presence.

  • Led large-scale organizational change affecting thousands of employees, including global technology and collaboration initiatives.

  • Worked across strategy and operations to turn big-picture goals into practical plans, processes, and measurable results.

  • My work has also received national and industry recognition, including a Gold Stevie Employee of the Year Award, coverage in Huffington Post and Fast Company, and inclusion in research by Forrester.
